Early May fished the north east -
Cara Cove grass was not in yet but bass were swimming around looking for grass to start bedding. Any place you found a grass patch or timber or even doc there were fish on them. Furnace Bay was still preety grass free but logs and small patch of grass could produce fish. We were at high tide most of the day.
- Square Bill - Sexy Shad was the ticket 1.5 and 2.5 in any shallow water.
- Chatter baits were also working in white with chart tails
- Spinner baits white
- Senkos on structure in the shallows - any place on a doc.
- Packa Craws also working well
- Silver buddies can be used but did not work for me.
- Carolina rigs seemed to work best during practice with woolly bully's
- Gold Blades are uses in stained to muddy water conditions
- Colorado's for slow and willow leafs for speed
- Look for flats and edges
- Yammamoto Hula jigs worked along with small black worms.
- Make a note to try gold chatter bait blades.

Lake Anna - Mr. Bass East April 19-21-22
- Weather stable and sunny - cool mornings and highs of 80s
- launch 6:30 to 3:30
- Fishing was tough for spring lake water was at good levels but clarity was different at each end of the lake. Muddy or stained up in the northern arms and clear down south.
- People were fishing ledges, points, sparse grass and drop offs
- Spinner baits and buzz baits- gold Colorado blades white and chartreuse
- Pop R's = white and yellow
- Skipping senkos under docks
- hair jigs
- jigs - gp trailer 1/4 and 3/8
- Carolina Rigs - chartreuse green lizards and redish brown
- Damiki - shaky head jigs
- Weighted hook for fast fall senko
- Shaky ehead worms
- swim baits - they were hitting tails but not eating them
- Crank baits - 8-to10 feet diver. sexy shad
- Cranks 1.5 sexy shad -0 thrown along grass and weed lines and where weeds were a few inches under the surface - 1.5 over the tops of them.
- Looked for weed lines close to deep water of 5 feet or more. These are transition places for bass to move up as soon as conditions are right for spawning.
- Up north there were bridges like 729 I think that held bays for new growth vegetation.
